It's time for the Lodi Open Studios Tour! Oct. 17th & 18th 2026

The Lodi Open Studios Tour is coming up! I’m excited to be participating for the third consecutive year. I and other Lodi artists will be opening up our studios to you the weekend of October 17th and 18th, 2026. It’s your chance to see artists at work, explore our creative spaces, ask questions, and shop for original creative goods directly from the source. Find all the details here.

Come out and see me in a shared studio space in Morada. I’ll be working on a number of things throughout the weekend, including my traditional annual participation in the “Inktober” and “Drawtober” Instagram illustration challenges.

My tabletop easel, waiting for new projects.

In addition to putting in some studio time working in my favorite medium (colored pencil) and occasionally felt pen or ink, I’ll have a multitude of seasonal goodies to browse: hand drawn Christmas cards, fall and Halloween cards printed from my original designs, stickers, mugs, prints, and more!

Come see my show "Finding Light" on display April-May 2026

“Finding Light” explores everyday magic: how do we rise above the mundane of the day to day routine to experience the joy we crave?

“Cosmic Breath” Colored Pencil by Nina Boyd

Sometimes it can be as simple as looking up.  The calming beauty of a sunrise can remind us that there is more to the world than our clutter of modern human worries.  Sometimes you can instead look down: a dusting of spring blossoms on your path or a tiny caterpillar moving along will draw your attention away from your to-do list.

“Cosmic Breath” Oil Pastel by Nina Boyd

Fun fact, “Cosmic Breath” exists in both colored pencil and oil pastel form. I drew the smaller, colored pencil version first, long before I started planning “Finding Light.” I later realized as I was putting this show together that the piece was perfect for it, so I used the colored pencil piece in promotional photos for the show. However, I really wanted a larger version of the piece to hang in the gallery. I completed the bigger, oil pastel version - using the colored pencil as a reference - just in time for the show!

“The Colors I Crave” Acrylic Painting by Nina Boyd

This show ponders: what exists beyond the confines we tend to place around ourselves and our world?  Can we step out of our own structured, day in and day out lives and see what we’ve been missing?  I invite you to look beyond with me, and take in the color and the light that surrounds us.
