"Life is But a Dream": A sneak peek before my show next month

Take a look behind the scenes! My show “Life is But a Dream” opens next month. Here’s a peek at some of my pieces as they go through a few final touches.

Detail: “The Space You Leave Behind”

Side by side of “The Color of Grief” and “Joy”

Detail: “Angel”

A note about the piece above: I pondered a title for weeks and then realized what I should call it. I’ve always been intrigued by the concept of angels not simply as benevolent, cherubic beings, but possibly a greater and more terrible entity…

Detail: “Beyond”

Finally discovered a title for this one! It’s been labeled “Untitled” for awhile, and might have continued to be, if I hadn’t rotated it and discovered a hidden scene…

Detail: “The Seventh Stage”

In progress: one of two interactive pieces that will allow gallery visitors to make their mark and share a piece of their own life story.

As part of my show, visitors will be able to create their own painting. Anyone wishing to honor the memory of a loved one, or to celebrate a new life coming into their own, will add to one of two canvases, piece by piece, to build a sort of tapestry of life. To see the creation and end result of each tapestry, come out to my show!

Opening reception:

Saturday October 4th, 4:00-6:00PM, at the Lodi Community Art Center. 110 W Pine St. Lodi CA 95240.

The show is on display all of October. See you there!
